Ceramic Nonstick Cookware 101: Care and Use

Every kitchen needs a set of ceramic nonstick cookware. For versatility, convenience, and the pure joy of home cooking, there’s nothing like it.

We designed ours to be — in our view, at least — the best version of what ceramic nonstick can be. Clean. Non-toxic. A total breeze to use and clean. Because when you actually like your cookware, you cook more. And when you cook more, you gather more. Which is kind of what it’s all about.

This guide walks you through how to use and care for your cookware, so it keeps performing (and looking) its best. A little know-how goes a long way — and means more time around the table with the people you love.

What Makes Ceramic Nonstick Special

Let’s start with what makes it different. Our ceramic nonstick coating is called Thermakind® — a proprietary, highly advanced coating primarily composed of just three natural ingredients: silica (a sand derivative), alcohol, and water. It has none of the sketchy chemicals like PFAS, PTFEs, microplastics, lead, or cadmium — so you can cook with total confidence.

Thermakind® is not just effective — it’s ultra-slippery, so nothing sticks. Where other pans might cause your foods to stick and tear, ours makes flipping, plating, and serving so easy, you won’t even think about it. “Like magic” gets tossed around a lot, but in this case? It kind of fits.

We also thought hard about the details. These pieces are built for multitasking, with smart touches like built-in utensil rests, easy-pour spouts, built-in strainers, rivet-free interiors (which are more hygienic and easier to clean than traditional cookware), and dome-shaped lids for more capacity. These are not one-trick pots and pans.

Cook with Care

To get started cooking, preheat your pot or pan over low to medium heat for about a minute. Then add a small amount of high-smoke-point oil — olive, avocado, or grapeseed all work great. Just avoid aerosol sprays, which can build up residue and damage the interior. Always cook with oil, fat, or butter — they help regulate the temperature, and avoid burning.

Our cookware is oven safe up to 450°F, but when cooking on the stovetop, keep the heat down. Stick to low to medium heat over the burner — they conduct heat very well, so a little goes a long way. With moderate temperatures, your food will cook more evenly (and the coating will last longer).

Finally — avoid using metal utensils, use wood or silicone, doing so will protect the nonstick coating. You may be picking up on a theme here.

Cleanup Time

Once you’ve finished cooking, let your cookware cool completely before washing. Never drop a hot pan in cold water — it could cause damage.

Always hand wash with warm, soapy water. Skip the dishwasher and avoid steel wool or abrasive scouring pads. The nonstick coating makes it incredibly easy to clean and dry, but it needs a gentle touch to keep it performing its best.

Maintenance Tips

If you ever notice food starting to stick, don’t worry. It happens! Here’s how to handle it: Add water and a tablespoon of baking soda to the pot or pan, bring the mixture to a simmer on the stove, and then clean as usual. This quick reset can help recondition the nonstick coating.

For any exterior discoloration or oil buildup, try mixing two tablespoons of baking soda with one tablespoon of vinegar into a paste and gently scrub the outside with a soft sponge. Over time, your cookware will develop a natural patina — it’s a sign of many delicious home-cooked meals.
